How many cubic feet in a bag of concrete depends on the size of the bag. Here in the USA, premixed concrete bags of various sizes are available i.e. 20lb, 40lb, 50lb, 60lb, 80lb and 90lb. This ready-mix concrete consists of sand, gravel, and other useful ingredients. You only need to add water to make it hardened concrete.

The premixed concrete bags are sold under various brand names like Quikrete and Sakrete and sold in the market in different sizes of bags. To calculate how many cubic feet can a cement bag do, you need to remember this. 20lb bag can give you 0.15 cubic feet of concrete. Similarly 40 lb of concrete bag yields (0.15×2= 0.30), 0.30 cubic feet. Likewise, you can calculate the yield of various bags of concrete in cubic feet.

How many Cubic feet in a bag of concrete -chart

Bag sizeYield of 1 bag of Concrete
20 lb concrete bag0.15 cubic feet
40 lb concrete bag0.30 cubic feet
50 lb concrete bag0.375 cubic feet
60 lb concrete bag0.45 cubic feet
80 lb concrete bag0.60 cubic feet
90 lb concrete bag0.675 cubic feet
How many Cubic feet in a Bag of Concrete

From the above chart, you can say that a 20 lb bag can yield 0.15 cubic feet of concrete, a 40 lb bag can yield 0.30 cubic feet of concrete, a 50 lb bag can yield 0.375 cubic feet of concrete, a 60 lb bag can yield 0.45 cubic feet of concrete, an 80 lb bag can yield 0.60 cubic feet of concrete and a 90 lb bag yield 0.675 cubic feet of concrete (source).

How many Cubic Feet in a 40lb bag of concrete

A 40lb bag of ready-mix concrete has sand, gravel, cement and other useful ingredients. We know that a 20lb bag of concrete has 0.15 cubic feet of concrete. Similarly, a 40 lb bag of concrete can give 0.30 cubic feet of concrete. Alternatively, the weight of dry ingredients of concrete (cement, sand and gravel) is 133 pounds per cubic foot.

  • This means that 133 pounds of dry concrete mix is required to make 1 cubic foot of hardened concrete.
  • 1 Pound of dry concrete mix can give 1/133 cubic foot of concrete
  • 40 lb bag can give 1/133 x 40 = 40/133 = 0.30 cubic feet of concrete.

How many Cubic Feet in a 60 lb bag of concrete

A 20 lb bag of concrete gives 0.15 cubic feet of concrete. Similarly, a 60 lb bag of concrete can give 0.15x 3 = 0.45 cubic feet of concrete. Thus a 60lb bag of concrete has 0.45 cubic feet of concrete. Alternatively, 1 cubic foot of concrete has 133 pounds of dry mix concrete (i.e. cement, sand and gravel).

  • 1 pound of dry mix concrete can do 1/133 cubic feet of concrete
  • 60 lb of dry mix concrete can do 60/133 = 0.45 cubic feet of concrete.

How many cubic feet in a 66 lb bag of concrete

A 20 lb bag of ready-mix concrete bags like quikrete and sakrete can give 0.15 lb of finished concrete after mixing it with water. 1 lb of dry ready-mix concrete can yield 0.15/20 cubic feet of concrete. 66 lb bag of concrete has 0.15/20 x 66 = 0.495 cubic feet of Concrete.

  • Alternatively, 133 lb of dry mix concrete yields 1 cubic foot of hardened concrete.
  • 1 lb of dry mix concrete can do 1/133 cubic feet of concrete
  • 66 lb concrete bag can do 60/133 = 0.495 cubic feet of concrete

How many cubic feet in a 80 lb bag of concrete

We know that a 20 lb bag of concrete can do 0.15 cubic feet of concrete. Similarly, an 80 lb bag of concrete can do ( 0.15×4 = 0.60), 0.60 cubic feet of concrete. Alternatively, 133 pounds of dry mix concrete (concrete paving dry mix of cement, sand and gravel) can give 1 cubic foot of finished concrete.

  • 1 pound of dry mix concrete can give 1/133 cubic foot of concrete.
  • 80 lb bag of concrete can give 80/133 = 0.60 cubic feet of concrete.

How many Cubic Feet in a 90 lb bag of concrete

We already know that a 20 lb bag of ready-mix concrete can do 0.15 cubic feet of concrete. Similarly, a 90 lb bag of concrete can do (0.15×4.5) = 0.675 cubic feet of finished concrete. Alternatively, 1 cubic foot of finished concrete contains 133 pounds of dry concrete mix.

  • 133 pounds of dry concrete mix can give 1 cubic foot of concrete.
  • 1 pound of dry concrete mix can give 1/133 cubic feet of concrete.
  • 90 lb bag of dry concrete mix can give 90/133 = 0.675 cubic feet of concrete.
